If you saw my first Let Me Tell You This post back in January, you'll have read that lucky ol' me won a holiday to Mexico (I'm still pinching myself!). So imagine my surprise when just a couple of weeks later, I received an email from Boohoo letting me know I'd won a luxury trip to Paris in their #myboohoobae competition, complete with Boohoo clothes and £300 spending money. (Yes, they say good things come in threes... I'm waiting patiently for holiday prize number three to come along!)
Needless to say, I was ecstatic, and was bouncing around university like a kid on candy for the rest of the day. The fabulous Holly and Emma from Boohoo sorted out our flights and accomodation incredibly quickly for us, and before we knew it, me and my friend Katie had packed our bags and were heading for the airport. Of course, we had our new Boohoo gear in our bags ready to wear around Paris.
Boohoo goodies
When spending my £50 Boohoo credit* (Katie had £50 too!), I wasn't looking for anything in particular, and after browsing through the site to see what took my fancy, I think I did pretty well with my basket and grabbed myself quite an assortment. Find out what I picked below (I couldn't find them all any more so some are similar items rather than the exact ones)!
Weather worries
Despite our eagerness and excitement, our trip got off to a rather slow start thanks to the snow that decided to make an appearence that morning! After boarding the plane at Leeds Bradford, we had to wait over two hours whilst they got a machine to come and defrost the wings, and the weather didn't look too promising for Paris either; it was forecast to be rain and snow for the entire weekend - typical, right?
Well, fear not dear readers, because when we landed in marvellous Paris, there wasn't a single drop of rain or snow to be seen, nor was there for the entire weekend. In fact, it turned out to be the brightest, most beautiful weekend we could have asked for in the first week of March, and so our brollies stayed tucked away in the hotel for the entire trip.
Newhotel Roblin
After triumphantly figuring out the Metro, we made our way the hotel as soon as we landed so we could dump our bags and freshen up. We had been booked into a hotel called Newhotel Roblin*, centred in the heart of Paris within walking distance of so many attractions, in particular, the Champs Elyseés.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff and were completely in awe of the place. Everything was incredibly posh and completely beautiful; we felt how Julia Roberts probably felt in Pretty Woman! Our room was simple, but perfect for a weekend away. The bathroom was gorgeous and the bed was beyond comfortable, so much so that we soon found ourselves settling down for an early night ready for full day's sight seeing the next day.

Being typical tourists
You can't go to Paris without sightseeing. You simply can't. Everything is so bloody beautiful. Obviously, our first stop was the Eiffel Tower, which is quite honestly breathtaking to see in real life. A photo of the Eiffel Tower cannot do it's magnificence justice. If you've never been before, put it on your bucket list.
We spent a grand total of about 20 hours walking around Paris over the weekend, and so we also got to witness the beautiful Notre Dame, the impressive Louvre, and the stunning Sainte Chapelle (with breaks at cafes and patisseries in between, of course!). We were also completely in awe of how beauiful the plain old unfamous buildings looked as well.
Time to treat ourselves
Once we'd been everywhere we wanted to be and seen everything we wanted to see, Katie and I decided it was time to spend our £300 spending money and treat ourselves. Although we couldn't afford to buy anything in there, our first stop was a Michael Kors store - and it was heaven.
After ogling at their glittering displays and wishing we were rich, we popped in and out of shops throughout the day treating ourselves to souvenirs, French food, and we both each bought our very first MAC lipstick (bad beauty bloggers for never having one before, I know!), before eventually finding ourselves in Sephora with love hearts in our eyes. Did we stay in there for about three hours you ask? No comment...
After being pampered by various members of staff showing us the amazing new products on offer, we left with bags full of MAC, Benefit and Smashbox products, but I'll tell you all about them in another post!
Snapchat overload
The weekend ended way too quickly for our liking, and as we sat on the plane (which we almost missed!) ready to head home, we looked over our photos for the weekend asking ourselves where the time went. Needless to say, my Snapchat story was filled with pictures of food, selfies and landmarks (I think I put about 3758 photos of the Eiffel Tower on there) so I had plenty to reminisce about.
Thank you!
I cannot thank Boohoo.com enough for sending us on such an amazing weekend (and thank you to blogger Stephi LaReine for hosting the competition). It was an incredible experience and we made memories that will last us a lifetime. Now, I think it's time get scrapbooking all of our amazing piccies!
Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for my Paris haul post sometime soon. Have you been to Paris before? What's your favourite landmark?
*The flights, hotel and spending money was all given to me by boohoo.com, but my enthusiasm and positive opinions of the trip all entirely honest - it was amaaaazing.
