#YorkKiehlsXmas Blogger Event

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to Kiehls' Christmas event in York. After driving to York blasting Justin Bieber, mooching around the Christmas markets, almost getting blown away by the extreme winds, and trying makeup and fragrances in Browns, we finally made it into the warm, toasty Kiehls shop, ready for a night of fun, nibbles, drinks and more!

After all of the bloggers hung up their coats, warmed up their hands and introduced themselves, we received a lovely warm welcome from the store manager, Laura, along with the rest of the team. We were given a quick insight into the amazing history of Kiehls (which has been around for over 160 years by the way!) before being whisked upstairs for some nibbles and cocktails.

Sontano, a local restaurant and cocktail bar in York, kindly provided all of us lucky bloggers with tapas samples which were presented to us on rustic wooden boards. We sampled an Avocado and Cucumber Gazpacho, Avocado and Steak Carpaccio, and finally Olive and Herb Bruschetta with Avocado and Edamme Bean Guacamole, which was my personal favourite!

As we all got stuck in with the food, a mixologist prepared some magnificent cocktails in front of us and talked us through each recipe. We got to sample three (very strong!) cocktails before licking our lips, wiping our hands, and moving back downstairs to the Kiehls store.

Each and every one of us were pampered by the wonderful staff in the store. I started off with a one-on-one skin consultation, and after finding out my skin wasn't hydrated enough (I was at 39.2% hydration when it should be 50%!), I was told that I had combination skin, and was particularly oily on my forehead and nose. The staff then talked me through the ideal products for me to use, and filled out a full consultation card for me so I wouldn't forget in the future.

After that, I received a heavenly hand and arm massage. Oh my word. Just thinking back to it now is making me feel relaxed and tingly. I could have sat there all day, and my hands felt absolutely amazing for the whole night.

We were then let loose in the shop to make use of an amazing 20% discount. After getting polaroid pics with Dr Bones, the Kiehls mascot, and spending the last of our pennies, we all made our way out, collecting a yummy red velvet cupcake and sample-filled goodie bag as we left!

It was an awesome day and I had so much fun meeting some lovely bloggers. Now I can't wait to get stuck into my goodie bag and pamper myself. Watch this space!

    1. Wasn't it just?! I had a lovely time. It's a shame we couldn't all mingle as much as we wanted to though. :( We'll definitely chat more next time!
