Ashton, where are you?

You may or may not have noticed that recently, I've not been out and about in the online world very much. (Shoutout to the cuties that noticed and have messaged me! If you haven't noticed, how very rude of you... jk. 😉)

My Twitter feed has been neglected, my Instagram filters have been gathering dust and cobwebs, and my blog hasn't has much of an update in a while. Which seems very odd considering I've just had a few days off from work one after the other. I did plan to spend that time blogging, but it turns out, I was so unbusy that I was ever so busy.

Dreaming of a life in Tenerife #BlogYourWayToSpain

I was a bit of a late starter when it came to sunshine holidays. My parents never had passports, and so caravan parks were where we spents our weeks off from school (and they were awesome by the way!). Finally, at the age of 18, I had my first holiday abroad. And my oh my, that was the spark that started my slight obsession with sunny holidays.

Being in a different country was so new and exciting that I vowed to visit a new destination every time we booked a holiday. That plan worked for a while, until something happened that I didn't anticipate - a resort stole a little piece of my heart.

The book that broke my heart: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

It's no secret that I adore a book that draws me to tears. There's something quite magical about words on paper that have the ability to stir such strong emotions, and so when multiple people recommended Me Before You and insisted I would cry my little heart out, I couldn't resist grabbing myself a copy even though I had no idea what the bloody thing was about. (And in case you're wondering, they were right - I sobbed into my pillow the entire night after reaching the end.)

So, I didn't follow you back on Twitter?

I'm pretty sure it's happened to us all. You get a new follower on Twitter at, let's say, 8pm one night. Cool. Hey there, maybe we'll end up being friends. But if you haven't followed them back by the next day, well, they don't hesitate to click the unfollow button. And sometimes it happens with the same person a few times. You've done nothing to offend them overnight, except not follow them back straight away. But what is so wrong with that?

Having a well-deserved #CalmDay

"Calm the mind, change the world."
It's no secret that I am stressed. Whilst juggling two part time jobs, a mathematics degree, numerous deadlines, plus blog posts and social media, my mind is constantly working overtime, even when I'm settled in bed ready to sleep. I struggle to find the time to put life on hold, breathe and just relax for a moment. Until, that is, Calm came into the picture.

It's okay not to celebrate Valentine's Day

Okay, this is kind of a spontaneous post, which I've not done before (spontaneity can lead to regret!) but hey ho. I'm currently sat in bed feeling lonely because my boyfriend has gone off to work for the day. Sure, I'd love him to be here with me snuggling, but he's doing overtime because he's in the process of creating us the perfect home, and to do that, we need money. So what's more romantic than that?! The fact he's gone to work on Valentine's Day so that he can buy us the perfect sofa, or treat us to a new TV, or simply afford a carpet, is perfect.

Let Me Tell You This #1

Happy Sunday guys and gals! Today I'm starting a new feature on Beauty, Books and Babble which is all about sharing things with you. I wanted to start a short, weekly post where I simply sum up important parts of my week I feel I want to share, fill you in on amazing blog posts I've read throughout the past few days, as well as link you up to the things I've been loving - basically a weekly round-up. And thus begins Let Me Tell You This...
